About 14 kms away from Kollam there is a village naming Chavara fabulous for black Sand mining .
Chavara is a fragile place we can see in North zone there is a greenic draped Ashtamudi lagoon and west Arabian sea .
The development of this village is more attached to Gulf migrated diasporas .
In 1970 and 80’s from Kerala to Gulf countries migration was very heavy . The prime reason behind that is oil investment stocks .
Due to Oil Shock in 73 and 79 caused oil price hike and famine in all over countries .
This cause very urgency of Oil neighbouring countries, they have to depend the gulf nations much more .
So this influence have been visible in many places of Kerala .
The diasporas who had been in Gulf countries more was close to Chavara Pala Kadavu and Kulangara bagham.
Mostly the Ezhava , muslim personalities were majority in Gulf countries that time .
So after that , most of the folks from Chavara reached to Gulf countries then.
From the heart of Chavara there is a Muslim pilgrimage named Chavara Muslim Jama ath situated with holy shrine of Allah.
The blessings of Allah the folks of Chavara more devoted to this Holy shrine .
The presence of a Sufi with Holy Quran and his Holy verses of praising Allah ‘s glory believed by the old folks caused Gulf Visa lovers arrival to this Holy shrine during Gulf boom days .
They believed that Arabic thangal prayers must be more help ful for the existence in abric nation , So that reason they came close to this Holy shrine to meet Thangal to say offer prayers to Allah.
In that reason they slowly reached Arabic countries .
In 1979, the release of movie Kayalum kayarum song went viral in Arabic countries, Chithira thoniyil akkare pokam ,Shara ranthal thiri thaanu, were the hit songs in those days . We can see the young people very much emotionally attached to this song in these days .

The listeners love were mostly went go and forth looking in to the visuals of Chavara lake their daily life and love to loved ones listening this song .
